Now that your precious miracle is walking, it is time for the perfect playroom. Whether you have a spare bedroom, an attic room or a basement room, your child needs a place to call their own to explore and grow.
Safety and fun are priorities and they should always go together. The room should be clean, child-friendly, and safe for your baby. Have a storage for all your child’s toys, so there will be no litter in the playroom. This also prevents accidents, no matter how minor.
Painting the playroom is a super enjoyable task. Bright colors are ideal to give the room a cheery and happy ambiance. Your child will also prefer loud colors as opposed to dark tones. The more colorful, the happier the room will look.
Decorate with lots of artworks. Posters, cartoons, stuffed toys, art materials and other things kids have fun with. You can also display your child’s artworks and photographs.
Playing can be safer with a floor treatment. This will prevent slipping accidents. One solution is to use area rugs. They can be cushions for the floor and are also great decorative materials.
Placing an area rug at the center of the room looks good and protects well. Toddlers often run around but usually settles in the wider space. Have a large rug in the middle, and if the playroom still permits, have a smaller rug as a cushion for a piece of furniture. It can be for his table and chair, his train set or the storage cabinet.
Using an area rug or two on a painted wood or tiled floor is very versatile. When your child wants to play with roller skates, or riding toy or just haul out the finger paints, the rug can be easily rolled back for playtime. After clean-up, the rug rolls out again in perfect condition.
Maintaining the rugs’ cleanliness too is a no-fuss task even if kids are generally messy with juice spills and food stains. They do wipe their hands and mouth wherever they can. Area rugs are considerably easier and faster to clean than carpets, and if brought to the dry-cleaners, way cheaper too than carpet cleaning.
There are area rugs especially made for children with lots of designs. Depending on the theme of your choice, you can have rugs full of animal images, numbers, shapes, nature, cartoon characters and more. Your child will have an awesome time looking at the fun rugs in the playroom.
