Modulate a computer with digital signals into analogue signals are converted for transmission over the telephone. This is modulation, and this is the task of the modem, an acronym for modulation, demodulation. The first form of modulation used in ADSL is applied, the amplitude modulation (AM), we also know from the radio. The values of the square wave of the digital signal by the modem multiplied by the values of the analog carrier. At each place where the digital signal the value zero, the values of the analog carrier to zero. This results in a wave movement that occasionally alternates with sections of the value zero. These flat parts correspond to the flat parts of the square wave of the digital signal and the value’0 ‘, while the parts with the original wave to the value’1′. When the analog signal must be digitized, you know the modem on the other side of the line which parts the value should be zero and the value one.
ADSL phone line is as I said using a standard copper telephone wires with which only analog signals can be sent over. A similar tone, the shape of a wave motion which is described by the amplitude, frequency and phase. The amplitude, expressed in decibels, is the strength of the signal visible in the height of the wave, while the frequency is expressed in Hertz and the number of times per second represents the wave moving through a full cycle. The phase, expressed in degrees, the extent to which the signal changes with respect to time. Who is mathematically constructed will recognize as the tangent of each point on the wave motion.
ADSL stands for Asymmetric Broadband Digital Subscriber Line and is a possible (Internet) connection, which is available from mainly phone companies. Because the technology of ADSL, it is possible to use existing lines faster download and upload speeds can be achieved.
An ADSL broadband connection is very easy to install. There are no extra cables or lines required. You use your current phone, which is connected to an ADSL modem. The ADSL modem divides your traffic in a voice and data channel.
Since its introduction, there is not one, yes you read it correctly, not a new service added. Time seems to stand still for fiberglass. The only positive development that I can mention is that some providers have disappeared from the scene. They were quite poor. Now it begins to seem like fiberglass work to promote consumers will miss. UPC has in the meantime not idle. Soon there will be very competitive subscriptions with download speeds of 60 Mbit and 120. Only the Battle of the upload speeds they can not win. But consumers will not be too heavy to lift.
